Like yeah, of course we can make music for sync licensing if you want (some of those sync fees can be quite tasty 🤤), but I grew up on mosh pits and metal*, catharsis and chaos… Okay, technically…

A lot of it was Nu Metal 😅; the first album I bought with my own money was Linkin Park’s Hybrid Theory (that may have dated me almost as much as the pops in my knees and the sounds I make when I sit down and stand up 👴🏾), but you get my point.

I get that there’s a huge demand for vapid commercial music and honestly, I can write and produce shallow pop tracks that slap so hard your teeth will fall out 👋🏾💥, but for me, the joy of songwriting has always come from observing, exploring, processing, understanding and befriending the shitty little monsters we call Emotions that use our hearts as punching bags and etch permanent graffiti in blood on the walls of our skulls.
